Juan de la Cruz

Juan de la Cruz ang kanyang pangalan,
     Bukod tangi kaninuman,
Saan man panig ng mundo siya’y iyong makikita,
     Nagtatrabaho ng marangal at kumikita.

May natatangi siyang angking kagalingan,
Na kahit anong lahi ay hinahanaphanap
Mabait, maaruga at matalinong maturingan,
     Tapat at pulidong magserbisyo kaninuman.

Mahirap man ang mundong ginagalawan,
Bagsakan mo man ng kahit anong bagyo,

Magalang, matulungin, masipag, at matiyaga,

Cosmos

A memorable day just ends,

The brilliant moon is cuddling us,
Sweet reveries to us it sends,
Watching it erases today’s fuss.

Diamonds hanging in the skies,
Making you wish to pick and fly,
To get in touch with the black sky,
Fly into the wide galaxies.

Oh how wonderful can it be,
To reach the cosmos flying free,
Just like the astronauts at space,
Seeing the space must be a grace.

Camiguin

Islang nasa norteng Mindanao,

Parte ng perlas ng silangan,
Sa liit nito’y iyong tanaw,
Halos lahat ng kagandahan.

Islang pinagpala ng Diyos,
Sa dami ng magandang lugar,
May hiwagang dantay na haplos,
Na makakabihag kay Ceasar.

Ihip ng hangin na sariwa,
Nagpapawala sa problema,
Sa bawat lugar na puntahan,
Ligaya’y di matutumbasan.

Islang likha ng mga bulkan,
Ngayon ay parang paraluman,
Na umaakit sa dayuhan,
Nagdadala ng kabuhayan.

Maglakadlakad sa baybayin,
Langhap mo ang sariwang hangin,
Dama mo ang kapayapaan,
Saan ka man sa kabuuan.

Prutas na Lanzones na handa,
Inaakit bata’t matanda,
Na tikman ang lasang kaiba,
Tamis nitong lahat ay sinta.

Ganda nitong di malilimot,
Pook na di masalimuot,
Iwinawaksi dalang lungkot,
Kapayapaan isinusuot.

Pasakit at pagdurusang dinanas,
Nangyari upang di pagsisihan,
Kundi upang pagkunan ng aral at lakas,
Sa pagsalubong sa kinabukasan.

Kapalaran

Galit at Muhi

Nanggigiba ng relasyon,

Sa anumang sitwasyon.
Pilit inaalis ang pinagsamahan
Ng mga tao sa nakaraan.
Pagsasama’y winawakas,
Paano nga ba ang bukas?
Kung galit at muhi,
Ang mangingibabaw muli.

Galit na nangongontrol,
Sa kahit sinuman,
Tila nagpapatrol,

Diverse Avenues

Diversity exists in our life’s avenues,

Engaging the other way is part of the clues,
To find each distinctive ways to attain success,
And to plant and harvest the fruits of each efforts.

One person chooses the other way around them,
Another one chooses to be one’s only stem
To accomplish another person’s reveries,
But they’re happy for the results of the grown seeds.

We may wonder why some chooses their avenue,
We may wonder what factors influence their choice
We should be a friend that serves the other as lieu,
Be of assistance to them and cure their own bruise.

Walang Hanggan

O Diyos na pinagpapala

Na sa mundo’y nagbigay awa
Sa aming mga nagkasala
Ika’y nagbuhos ng biyaya.

Biyaya ng pagpapatawad,
Na sa ami’y ‘yong iginawad
Tanda ng iyong pagmamahal
Sa ‘yong mga anak na mahal.

Walang hanggan mo na pag-ibig,
Lubos naming tinatangkilik,
Ligayang ika’y nangingibig
Sami’y bigay mo nang di pihik.

Diyos namin na nasa langit,
Na sa amin ay nagbabantay
Dinggin po ninyo aming hirit
Nawa’y magbantay habambuhay.

Walang hanggang pasasalamat,
Sayo aming iniaalay,
Sa dami ng lahat mong bigay,
Matutumbasan kayang lahat?

Stance towards Life

One life is significant

In one’s life expanse;
It is our Creator’s grant
To us to provide a chance
Not just to suit what we want,
But to spread His word at once.

Like the beautiful flower,
Dazzling us every morning,
Life is intensely dazzler,
It lures us for venturing,
The time God sets to cover,
For life is worth enjoying.

Life is akin to the sky,
Its meaning is vast to seek,
To know while it passes by,
We just need to be meek,
Be calm and impede to lie,
And pray to Him up on high.

Like the chute on the mountain,
That must fall into the ground,
We should fall for us to train,
To realize how life is round
And beat life’s snags on the lane;
And restart new times around.

Tears Talk

Dewdrops of water that roots from within,

Bare eyes can’t read its different reasons;
It must be read like the lines in between,
To capture reasons behind the seasons.

Tears sway from what emotions has bequeath
When someone struck the heart of its holder,
Tears expose the emotions underneath
And talks to make someone to be stronger.

Bare faces doesn’t display emotions
Tears give meaning to display expressions,
That might grasp someone’s hidden intentions,
To cease misunderstandings and commotions.

Time

Time must be well spend

As important as money a person needs to intend

Checked
As a key document to be passed

Noticed cautiously
So that it might not be wasted carelessly

Seriously allocated to events
So that it won’t caused predicaments

Must be carefully studied
In order to give some of these to those who need.

Dagat

Sa bawat paghampas ng alon sa dagat,

Dala nito’y masasayang alaala,
Simula ng magkaisip at mamulat.
Ala-alang nalikha ng mga musmos,
Na pawang magaganda at malikhain,
Na siyang nagpapagaan sa damdamin.

Kay sarap maglaro sa alon ng dagat,
Pinapawi nito ang problema’t lungkot,
Na bumabalot sa pagkatao ninuman.
Kay sarap balikan ng mga alaala
Nagugunita sa paghampas ng alon,
Tila huminto, panahon sa pagtakbo.

Kasiyaha’y di lamang dala ng dagat,
Maaari din itong may dalang badya,
Sa taong may alaalang mapapait,
Na kahit pa ito ay kaakit-akit,
Mata ng tao’y walang ibang maukit,
Kung hindi kalungkutan lamang at sakit.

Bawat titig sa dagat ay naiiba,
Nasa taong tumititig ang emosyon,
Kung dapat siyang masaya o malungkot,
Desisyon nya ang mangyayari sa kanya,
Hahayaan ba niyang maging malungkot?
O sasabay siya sa alon ng dagat?

Kalayaan

Walang nagawa kundi manahimik at magbingibingihan,
Sa mga nangyaring kaguluhan at iringan.
Upang di masangkot sa ano mang magaganap.

Pagdating ng pusa, nagsisitago ang daga,
Sa lunggang kayliit, pinagkakasiya ang sarili.
Kung ganito lagi, talagang kalayaa’y di makakamit.
Hanggang ganito lang ba ang ating masusungkit?

Tandaan, bawat minuto ay mahalaga
Kaya’t gamitin sa wastong pagpapahalaga.
Sa pagkamit ng kalayaang inaasam,
Huli man at magaling ay naihahabol din.

Greetings of Gratitude

Another day has come,
An ordinary day for some,
But not for us your friends
Whose greetings we send.

Today a special woman is born,
Who eases our life’s thorns,
Who lends us an ear to listen,
When we have problems solve in hasten.

We’re blessed for having you as our friend,
No matter how tough times are,
Your time to us you lend,
Wherever near or afar.

We may be afar but you’re always part of our life,
In happiness and strife,
We will always be there for you,
Like you are in our lives.

On this special day of yours,
We would like to express our gratitude,
For being always there, in sunshine or storms,
May you always be our dear friend indefinitely.

Happy Birthday to you dear,
On this special day each year,
May you always be happy and faithful to God,
Who gives hope and watches you above.

Mama

Sa’yong pag-aaruga’t kalinga,

Heto kami’t ngayo’y malaki na,
Sa iyong pagmamahal na wagas,
Buhay nami’y naging maaliwas.

Bawat dugo’t pawis na binigay,
Sa ‘ming mga anak para mabuhay,
Pagmamahal na walang katumbas,
Na mulit muli ay mababakas.

Salamat sa pagtiyatiyaga,
Sa pagbibigay mo ng ligaya,
Kahit ano pa man ang mangyari,
Kaming lahat iyong tinatangi.

Mama ikaw ay aming idolo,
Sa pagharap ng mga pagsubok,
Na kahit pa ito ay marupok,
Ika’y hindi pa rin sumusuko.

Ikinagagalak namin mama,
Na ika’y aming mahal na ina,
Mahal ka namin magpakailanman,
Payo mo’y susundin kahit saan.

Fraction of Memories

Happiness. Sorrow. Loneliness. These are all parts of a person’s memories. Memories that can’t be taken away from you and will help you grow to be better individuals. Like any other people my memories are a combination of the three.
I remember some of my reveries during my childhood were being a princess in a castle, a superhero like those characters in Voltes 5, Sakura, Gundam Seed, X-men, and many other characters in cartoons. I even dream of being a singer in television. I dream to be Carol Banawa and Jessa Zaragosa in television. I used to memorize their songs before. These things isn’t only true for me, but for all of us.
Reminiscing these things gives me a positive look throughout my life. It reminds me of the idea to step upon one small stones in my life, so that I can reach the finishing line. The essence of the kid’s way of facing challenges is not looking at it negatively, but in a positive way that can help us to develop into mature individuals.
On the other hand, I remember years ago, my mama and papa used to scold me, when I did wrong. I remember I used to take the full responsibility of losing my things at school where in fact it was stolen from me. I’ve heard from my parents and I’ve accepted their punishment. I crying hard that day, thinking to say the truth to my parents, but I couldn’t hardly told them for I’m afraid they will go to my school and confront any of my classmates and teachers.
Basing on that event, I regret I haven’t told them the truth, not because I wanted them to confront anyone, but because starting that time, I started to take responsibility in taking care of the things that were at the first place were not my faults. I became afraid of the outcomes if I told the truth. Maybe someday somehow I can fix it.
Another memory that I can’t forgot was the happiness that I felt when I’m with my family. I felt like I was secured that whatever happens they were there for me. I love that memory, because at that time our life is simple — less intense problems, healthy family members and all of the members of the extended family were in good terms. I love the peacefulness and the camaraderie that’s in the family.
As a whole, I’m thankful for God, for giving me life, good parents and a good environment to live. These childhood memories will never be changed. Yet, I can learn from them to improve my life at the moment.

Smile

In the midst of trials in your life,

When you’re in the middle of strife,
Be positive that you can make it,
Trust in yourself and you can surely hit;
Never think you will be futile,
Always face it with a smile.

Smile that gives you an affirmative reaction,
In an objective to fulfil in your direction,
Smile that gives you hope to continue,
And start your life anew.
Smile not just to hide your emotions,
But do it for yourself to attain your missions.

Saan, Kailan at Paano?

Say Hello

Say hello to the glorious morning,

Who brings hope in every being.
Say hello to the beautiful sunshine,
That gives energy that makes us fine.

Say hello to your friends,
Whom their time to you they’ve provided.
Say hello to your parents,
That gives you caring laws to be abided.

Say hello to the beautiful sunset,
Which erases things when you’re upset.
Say hello to the silent evening,
That will cuddle you while you’re sleeping.

Calendar Year

Time seems to rush,
A day runs so fast,
Another month have passed,
The year again is about to last.

January then shines with bright,
For New Year’s image is coming at sight,
A year on which we hope to bring us light,
To bring us prosperity and delight.

February then gets closer,
Not just to remind us the day of lovers,
But to honour that day for our father and mother,
Who strives hard to make us better.

March is then occurring,
We can see the graduates marching,
At the moment they are all waiting,
For the diplomas they were dreaming.

April is then about to start,
Students were about to be apart,
For the vacation is about to commence,
And feel the Lenten season’s essence.

May then is inviting us to the seas,
To go enjoy our summer holidays,
To enjoy some refreshments,
To relieve some problems and stresses.

Start of classes in June is about to be at the sight,
To face school days with knowledge and might,
To remember to keep hold of your dreams tight,
So that we can finished our studies without a fright.

July then is coming,
This time we must have started working,
With any problems we’re encountering,
So that we can focus studying.

August then gives the sign of examinations,
To test our knowledge and also our limitations,
To improve them while we’re still studying,
To bring out the best of everything.

September has begin,
Another time to live as a teen,
A month to start to grin,
For gifts are about to be glean.

October is then resembling,
Semestral break for students is ringing,
A month of the Holy Rosary we’ll foresee,
How wonderful this month will be?

November is then approaching,
A month before celebrating,
The nativity of Christ the king,
Where we awe everything.

Then December has finally arrived,
A King is born that will save our lives,
Not just for the wealthy but for the deprived,
And for everyone who believes in Him and glorifies.

Then the year is about to begin again,
Wherein we can test our productivity and gains,
So that we can assess what to improve,
To start our path to move.

Just Being Me

Who Am I? I remember this question way back in high school. This question is being asked during essay writing in our subjects in Filipino and English. This question seemed to be hard during that time, but actually it’s still not easy to answer it now.
I know what I wanted to portray to other people, but I don’t know how they describe me in their own. I don’t know how they look at me. (Hmmp..) But I think that doesn’t matter at all. What is important for me is that I have done my best to portray who I wanted to be. I just wanted to be free in expressing my own self. I’m not comfortable when someone is asking me to change something about me. It’s not that I’m not open for other opinions, but I’m can’t easily cope with change. You know change takes time to be completely adapted. It sounds like it’s not easy to do.
Maybe the time will come that I can cope and do with the change they want me to do, and treat it as my real self. But as for now, I love being myself.

Metaphors of Life

Life has many meanings. You’ll just be surprised some meanings might not be logical for you. The symbolic description of the word “life” depends on how someone who defines it through what he believes and experience.

Here are some meanings that I believe life is like:
1)     a river that flows on continuously.
2)     a wheel, sometimes you’re on top of it, and sometimes you’re under it.
3)     a roller coaster ride, it sometimes feels like its slowing down, but sometimes it’s just too fast.
4)     a rosary that’s full of mystery.
5)     a gem that is so precious to have.
6)     a coloring material that gives color unto our world.
7)     a processed food that has certain expiration date.
8)     a rose that is full of thorns.
9)     a water that you can hold on with your bare hands for too long.
10) a seed that has to be nurtured to grow.
11) the ocean is so deep and wide to grasp it fully.
12) the universe that so vast to explore.
